Toronto's PONY are the latest up-and-comers to sign with Buzz Records, and the garage-pop four-piece have just unleashed a brand new single.
The band's first offering from their new label home is a punched-up, pop-leaning indie rock jam titled "DIY." The track puts a sunny spin on a less than cheery situation, drawn directly from singer Sam Bielanski's own experience.
"Once upon a time, I had a huge crush on a guy who did not crush back," she told Stereogum. "I was feeling bummed, insecure and super crummy. Through this minor heartbreak I realized that the only thing you can really do when someone lets you down or makes you feel bad about yourself is to take matters into your own hands and practice the art of 'self-love'. D.I.Y. till you D.I.E."
Hear PONY turn that frown upside down on "DIY" below.
The track will be treated to a 7-inch single release via Buzz on May 12, and you can also find the band's upcoming Canadian tour dates below.
