José González Returns with First Album in Six Years
Earlier this year, José González returned with a new single "El Invento," his first in five years. Now, the Swedish singer-songwriter has shared plans for his next studio album Local Valley, which is due to arrive on September 17 via Mute.

Along with the announcement, González has shared another new single. This one is titled "Visions," the lyrics of which the artist said "came to me in early February 2020 just as there were more and more tweets about the possible pandemic. The topic of the song felt very timely."

"We are the apes that are starting to understand the universe and our place in it," he added. "We are changing our surroundings in an exceedingly rapid pace, so much that we're becoming stewards of our planet whether we like it or not. As Stewart Brand said, 'We are as gods and we have to get good at it.'"

González's latest album was 2015's Vestiges & Claws.
