Jónsi & Alex Somers Take 'Riceboy Sleeps' Album on Orchestral Tour
Canadian stops include Toronto and Montreal
Published Apr 01, 2019This July will mark a decade since Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi and composer Alex Somers released their Riceboy Sleeps album, and the pair have now announced plans to celebrate the milestone with a North American tour.
The 10-date run, which begins on October 11 in Seattle, will find the pair performing the album alongside the Wordless Music Orchestra and Choir. The trek marks the first time that the album will be performed in its entirety.
"After all these years and having never fully realized our album in a live environment we are so excited to come play a few special shows," the pair wrote in a statement. "We'll be playing together with the Wordless Music Orchestra and Choir. And we'll be playing in some really beautiful rooms and we can't wait to share in this experience together."
Two Canadian stops have been included on the tour. The pair will first play Montreal's Théâtre Maisonneuve on October 23 before playing Toronto's Queen Elizabeth Theatre on October 25.
You can find a complete tour itinerary below.
