Ivy Reemerge with Fifth LP
Published May 26, 2011Fans have had a long wait for new material from Ivy, as the pop rock trio haven't released an album since 2005's In the Clear. Now, the New Yorkers are getting ready to break their silence with their fifth studio album.
The details are still scarce, and the title and release date have yet to be confirmed. But according to a press release, the record was self-produced at the band's own Manhattan studio. We'll get our first taste of the collection when the single "Distant Lights" drops on June 7. According to the PR, it's a "slow-building, hypnotic and danceable track" that sounds "simultaneously like classic Ivy and like nothing they've ever quite done before."
Of the new LP, singer Dominique Durand said, "This record feels like a new beginning for Ivy. We have never been as excited about one of our records as we are about this one."
Like In the Clear, the new album will come out via Nettwerk. The label's Mark Jowett said, "Ivy has reemerged with a beautiful, evocative and excellent album, and we are thrilled to linked up with them again."
