The Front Bottoms "Twelve Feet Deep" on Exclaim! TV
Published Sep 25, 2014Since founding the Front Bottoms in 2007, New Jersey native Brian Sella has taken his indie rock project from playing around his home state to playing across the globe. Success has come since signing to Bar/None Records in 2010, with the band having released their fourth studio record last year, a six-track EP this year, and having recently completed a sold-out tour of the UK.
We caught up with Sella and touring trumpet player Ciaran O'Donnell in Kitchener, Ontario at KOI Music Festival, where they played us a stripped back version of "Twelve Feet Deep," taken from this summer's EP Rose.
Inside an incredibly spacious venue, Sella and O'Donnell stand in the middle of the room with only their instruments. The frontman leads things off with his strumming and conscious lyrical work, telling a story of young love through song. O'Donnell, quietly waiting and counting bars in the song intently, offers up some tasteful accompaniment on his horn in the song's chorus.
