Dog Day "Sandwich" on Exclaim! TV
Published Feb 11, 2014Most of the time when you hear about a husband and wife musical duo, you probably imagine some sort of terrible folk group played on campus radio. But when it comes to long running Halifax-based indie outfit Dog Day, nothing could be further from the truth.
We recently met up with the fuzzed-out rock group (now a quartet) at Toronto's 3030 Dundas West to capture a performance of "Sandwich" off their recently released LP, Fade Out.
In this shadowy black and white clip, watch as co-leader Nancy Urich steps away from the drum kit and up to the mic, Fender guitar in tow, to play her blistering riffs alongside lead-guitarist Seth Smith's dissonant shredding. Once the song has run its course, watch as the group finishes things off with a good heaping of echo-laden feedback as cuts from the shoots spiral in and out of focus.
