Published May 01, 2013Controversial Swedish black metal band Watain have just announced their first LP in three years. Titled The Wild Hunt, the band's fifth full-length is set to arrive August 19 in Europe and a day later on our shores.
While the band didn't go into too many details when they revealed the LP plans on their website, the album was recorded over the winter. A tracklisting has yet to appear, but the album was reportedly mixed at Alvik, Sweden's the Necromorbus Studio by Tore Stjerna.
"After 120 nights of iron will and ardent magic, the fifth full-length album of Watain is now complete," the band explained rather dramatically in a statement. "With broken bones and burning hearts we have ploughed our way through deepest winter into a new wilderness, to which we will open the gates at summers end."
Up above, you'll find a photo of the band swinging weapons in the mist. Apparently they're already sharpening their survival skills for The Wild Hunt.
Watain's last LP was 2010's Lawless Darkness.
