Parquet Courts Announce 'Human Performance' LP and Tour Dates, Debut 'Dust' Video
After delivering 2014's Content Nausea LP under the name Parkay Quarts, Parquet Courts returned to the original spelling last year to share an EP titled Monastic Living. They even threw in a Third Man live album and a couple of 7-inch split singles, but the group show no signs of slowing down in 2016, as they've just announced plans for their next full-length.

Titled Human Performance, the band's new record will arrive on April 8 through Rough Trade.

A press release describes it as the group's most "ambitious," but also most "accessible" work to date, striving to strike a balance between the emotional and cerebral. It was produced and mixed by band member Austin Brown.

"I began to question my humanity, and if it was always as sincere as I thought, or if it was a performance," singer/guitarist Andrew Savage said in a statement about the inspiration for the new material. "I felt like a sort of malfunctioning apparatus, like a machine programmed to be human showing signs of defect."

You can hear that internal struggle work itself out in the first single from Human Performance. "Dust" has been given the video treatment, and you can check it out in all of its sepia-toned, ink-splattered glory in the player below.
