Published Mar 10, 2008Hit songwriters of "Young Folks" (which I heard in Home Depot the other day, true story!), Peter Bjorn & John appear to be taking a small break while Bjorn Yttling produces every single Swedish artist in the country and Peter Morén embarks on a tour to support his brand new solo album. What about John? Well, he's joining both Peter and Bjorn in recording their instrumental album, apparently. So really, I guess they're not taking a break.
Scheduled to hit shops on April 8 via Touch & Go imprint Quarterstick, Morén's The Last Tycoon is a much more stripped down affair, compared to his band's exquisitely arranged lush pop. The label has now unveiled the first single, "Social Competence," which you can hear by clicking here.
Morén will be hitting the road sans Bjorn & John starting next month for a string of North American dates, including three Canadian stops. And here they are:
